When shopping for skincare, SPF is probably the one product that all of us spend time looking for. Whether stocking up for summer or heading off on holiday, finding the right one is vital – or you’re left with a greasy complexion and yellow-stained sleeves. Yes, we’ve all been there.
Although sunscreen is readily available and there are countless options on the shelves all year round, knowing what to look for and how to shop smart can be tough. Moreover, the myths surrounding SPF protection can make it seem impossible to get it just right. If you struggle with sun care, check out my guide to UVA and UVB rays here.
The more we learn about sun damage, however, the better formulations become, and today there are so many options on the market that combine sun care with daily skincare and make-up, that more and more of us are incorporating it into our skincare routines. For many men, though, that kind of casual protection gets overlooked, and if you’re not well-clued when it comes to grooming you’ll miss out altogether.
Despite more men than ever investing in skincare, it’s still vital that brands put out simple products that are easy to use and understand, and that’s exactly what this sunscreen is all about. DraCel’s Beaute de Cell Perfect Sun Shield is one of my most recent skincare discoveries and a product I think is brilliant for men looking for simplicity in their skincare. Made in Korea, the formula is SPF 50+ and PA+++ protection against UVA rays – all in all, a top-grade sunscreen.
What’s more impressive is the skincare benefits of the Beaute de Cell Homme release. The product – which is packaged in a sleek orange and black box, with similarly smart 50ml tube – is centred on skin cell regeneration and contains active ingredients for anti-ageing and optimal UV protection.
- Caviar Extract: Prevents collagen breakdown and reduces fine lines and wrinkles
- Spherical Silica Powder: Delivers a smooth oil-free finish
- Centella Asiatica Extract: Powerful antiaging benefits
- Portulaca Extract: Helps with acne
- Niacinamide: Lightens skin and reduces pigmentation
- Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrating to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
That’s where the Beaute de Cell Homme does so much. Not only is it SPF protection, it can also replace moisturiser, and is packed with active ingredients to rival serum, offering countless benefits that can be preventative for younger skin, or help rejuvenate and inject new life into tired skin.
Retailing at £39.99, I think the price point is more than reasonable. No, it’s not a bargain by any means – but it’s not a bargain product. You’re investing in advanced skincare, and you get what you pay for. Similarly, while some may frown at the 50ml size, for a moisturiser it’s not too bad. And to be clear, this is a facial SPF – lather it on your body and you might as well flush that money away.
Team up with a lower priced SPF on the rest of your body to keep yourself protected, and save the active ingredients for where they matter. You can check out some of my favourite SPF products here.
