The haircare market is crammed with so many products it can be difficult to know what’s worth the splurge and what’s going to end up in the back of the bathroom cabinet after a couple of uses. Because it’s tough enough trying to find a shampoo that actually works with your hair – and by the time you’re done with that, you’re fully prepared to go Britney 2007 and have done with it all.

While the products of the past have relied on gimmicks to fly off the shelves, however, nowadays there’s so much more out there than simple masks and deep conditioners, that you’re likely to find your new favourite product if you just give it some time. Whether it’s haircare products or styling accessories you’re after, your next lifesaving purchase could be just around the corner.

Bearing that in mind, here are 3 products I’ve been testing over the past few weeks that I absolutely love – and are sure to be flying off the shelves!

got2b Farewell Flyaways

I don’t know how it’s taken until recent years for these brilliant products to see the light of day, but my GOD they’re so good! Over the past few weeks I’ve carried this new flyaway wand in my bag everywhere, because here in the U.K. we’ve had storm after storm, and I’ve been blown every which way (stop it).

The Farewell Flyaways wand is part of the new got2b collection, and is just like a mascara wand. However, instead of colour, the tube contains a styling product, which – you guessed it – is perfect for brushing away flyaways and perfecting your look right down to the very last hair. Of course, it’s one in a long line of similar releases from other brands, but as with all got2b products this is low cost and super effective.

My one complaint here is the branding – I’m not entirely sold on the all-pink packaging. Personally, I don’t care, and I’ll whip it out whatever the colour if it means my hair stays in place. But I think the got2b marketing team is missing a trick targeting just a female audience with this, as it’s great for guys with long hair, as well as quiff styles too. Sort it out, got2b!

The Hair Boss’ Scalp Soothing Tonic

I’d never paid much attention to Lisa Shepherd’s The Hair Boss range before now, but when I was sent a selection of products I couldn’t help but notice how stunning it all looks. I’m one of those terrible people who’s, 9 times out of 10, completely sold on the packaging – and this was no exception. Moreover, when I tested the products, I found them to be great, and the shampoos and conditioners absolutely did the trick.

But what I loved most of all from the range was this – The Scalp Soothing Tonic. This fabulous little tonic helps to improve scalp health and reduce dandruff, with a cooling formula containing Tea Tree Oil and Rosebay Extract to help rebalance the scalp’s pH. And I have to say, it feels sooooo good. I mean really, I wish they’d find a way to make it last all day.

As someone who quite clearly bleaches and dyes their hair often, I dread to think what my scalp is like condition-wise. But I tell you, it loved this, and I’ll for sure be using it over and over again. I also love how easy this is: you just apply to damp hair, blow-dry, and leave. So there’s no waiting around with heavy, dripping masks on – which drives me crazy. Easy, effective – I’m sold!

Schwarzkopf Live Silver Shampoo

I’ve never known a struggle like trying to find a shampoo that neutralises yellow tones in bleached hair effectively and doesn’t completely strip it of colour. What’s that about? If you have any recommendations, let me know in the comments below. But my search seemed like it was going to be endless – until I was introduced to this.

The Silver Shampoo from the Schwarzkopf Live* range goes hand in hand with the brand’s other bleach and hair colour products, and works wonders at keeping up colour. I don’t know whether it’s the neutralising technologies or the fact that it’s silicone-free, but this shampoo is just brilliant at leaving hair feeling clean and refreshed, while not stripping away everything else at the same time.

If I had one wish, though, it would be for a conditioner or deep conditioning mask with similar neutralising properties. Because granted, this leaves hair a lot more hydrated that several other similar shampoos out there, but I’m obsessed with the conditioner that comes with the Schwarzkopf Live hair dyes, and if they could bring out something similar in it’s own right, I’d be first in line on release day. C’mon, Schwarzkopf!
